I have spent my entire (now lengthy) career in clinical research. I started at Johnson & Johnson right out of college, working on Phase 1 to Phase 4 trials on everything from oral contraceptives (Ortho Tri-Cyclen), antibiotics (Levaquin), anti-epileptics (Topamax – which also is a migraine prophylaxis – worked on that too) to Indium-labelled IgG (Ed Coleman was my PI), Haldol, Retin-A for wrinkles, and dementia drugs (galantamine), among many others. After taking a few years off to raise my three kids, I stumbled into the role of director of the Clinical Trials Network at SNMMI (thanks to that study with the late, great Dr. Coleman). After a steep learning curve to get up to speed on all things radioactive and molecular imaging (newsflash: it is always changing so still need to keep the accelerator down), the CTN has been involved in lots of cool research, education, and a few drug approvals.
When I am not in the office, I enjoy exercising outside, hiking, concerts, cooking, and spending time with my husband and two dogs!!
